using the hp ProLiant Extended Feature Supplement (EFS) 5.66
for SCO OpenServer Release 5.

WARNING: READ ALL OF THE RELEASE NOTES PRIOR TO EFS INSTALLATION.
FOR UPGRADATION OF EFS TO A LATER VERSION, REMOVE OLD EFS FIRST
(Refer to Section 8.0) AND THEN UPGRADE.

NOTE: Downgrading EFS from 5.66 to 5.62 on the hp ProLiant DL380 G4
is not recommended as EFS 5.62 does not support the Smart Array 6i
controller.

Downgrading EFS from 5.66 to 5.62 on the hp ProLiant ML350 G4:
The "hp ProLiant Advanced Server Management Driver (casm)" in
EFS 5.62 does not support this platform. However if you still need
to downgrade the EFS to 5.62, then you could disable the casm
driver at the "boot:" prompt by typing "defbootstr disable=casm".

WARNING: Using /etc/btldinstall (a btld post install) is not recommended.
Using btldinstall will cause the cha driver to rewrite the sdevice file
with only one(1) device. If you have more than one SCSI controller
installed, only the boot device will be accessible. Recovery is
possible, see section 4.6.

Using btldinstall will cause the clad driver to rewrite the sdevice file
with only four devices. Using btldinstall will cause the ciss driver to
rewrite the sdevice file with only four devices.

Note: SmartStart assisted installation of SCO OpenServer Release 5 is
not supported from SmartStart 5.40 onwards. Follow these instructions
to install EFS 5.66 with SCO OpenServer Release 5.

1.0 Introduction to EFS 5.66

The hp ProLiant Extended Feature Supplement 5.66 for SCO
OpenServer Release 5 is a collection of software components
that allow ProLiant hardware to operate at maximum performance
levels.

EFS 5.66 also includes several utilities to monitor the
performance and condition of your ProLiant Server.

1.1 EFS 5.66 Packing List

1.2 Changes from EFS 5.64

EFS 5.66 contains temporary alternative solution for the
installation of OEM Intel and Broadcom network drivers.
EFS 5.66 OEM network drivers will be installed by running
the "hpnicinstall" command rather than as an intergrated
part of the typical EFS package. hp is currently investigating
a permanent delivery method for OEM network drivers. The new
method should be available in EFS 5.68. The "hpnicinstall"
command is available as part of the EFS 5.66 package. Full
details for "hpnicinstall" are available in the "hpnicinstall"
man page.

o Support added for hp ProLiant ML310 G2 (SCSI version)
o Support added for next generation Intel Processors

2.0 Device Drivers Included in EFS 5.66

A Device Driver is a software that the operating system uses to setup
and communicate with hardware devices. EFS 5.66 provides support for
the following ProLiant specific hardware.

2.1 Network Controller drivers

The Compaq NetFlex Controller (cnet/cet) driver supports
the family of Compaq NetFlex controllers under SCO
OpenServer Release 5.

The Compaq Netelligent Controller (cnet/cet) driver
supports the family of Compaq Netelligent controllers
under SCO OpenServer Release 5.

While configuring eeE, eeG and bcme driver supported controllers
using netconfig, DO NOT SELECT the Compaq NIC Stub Driver as a
protocol. The Compaq NIC Stub Driver should be used in redundant
NIC configuration only. Currently, redundancy is supported by cnet
and n1000c driver based controllers.

2.2 Compaq SCSI-2 driver (cha)

Compaq SCSI-2 driver includes support for the Integrated
32-Bit Fast-SCSI-2 Controllers in the Compaq ProSignia and
ProLiant Family of Servers. Support is also provided for
the following option cards.

2.3 Compaq ProLiant Storage System driver (cled)

The hp ProLiant EFS 5.66 includes support for the features of
the ProLiant Storage System when connected to the Compaq SCSI
controllers.

2.4 hp ProLiant Advanced Server Management driver (casm)

Advanced Server Management features include components that monitor
system activity, temperature conditions, fan operation, EISA and
PCI bus utilization, redundant power supply status, ECC correctable
memory errors, and operating system up time since manufacture.

It also provides Automatic Server Recovery and Health Log Support
for the ProLiant Servers. Abnormal events and changes in Wellness
status will also be logged to the Integrated Management Log
(ProLiant's LCD Log Display) on servers equipped with such a display.

Advanced Server Management Support also provides this information
to CIM allowing convenient enterprise wide server management.

NOTE: From EFS 5.66 and above the IPL (Interrupt Priority Level)
of the casm driver is set to 5 by default.

The hp ProLiant Boot-Time Loadable Drivers diskette is used
when installing SCO OpenServer Release 5 on ProLiant systems.
BTLD contains ad160, cha, ciss, clad, ida, and lsil drivers.

2.8 hp ProLiant Fibre Channel Host Controller Driver (casa)

The hp ProLiant Fibre Channel Host Controller Driver (casa)
is the device driver which enables Fibre attached storage.
This driver requires that the StorageWorks Attached Storage
Arrays be configured using the Array Configuration Utility.
The casa device driver will not enable the logical drives,
until they are "stamped" with the virtual SCSI nexus
information using mkdev casa.

line output of the current EFS version number installed on the
system.

3.10 hp ProLiant Integrated Management Log Utility

The hp ProLiant Integrated Management Log viewer utility lets
the user view history of events that have taken place on the
server since it was first booted.

3.11 hpnicinstall Utility

hpnicinstall utility provides a command line interface to install
the hp tested and approved OEM Intel/Broadcom Network drivers.

3.12 hpuid Utility

PATH: /usr/bin/compaq/diags

hpuid utility provides a command line interface to disable, enable
and check the status of UID (Unit Identifier) Light (Blue colored),
located on the front and rear of hp ProLiant Servers.

3.13 hplog Utility

PATH: /usr/bin/compaq/diags/iml

The hplog utility provides a command line interface to view the
history of events that have taken place since the system was first
booted. This utility provides options to view the entire log, view
the entire log starting at particular entry number, call to log a
maintenance note and call to set the SEVERITY of a maintenance note.


4.0 Installation Considerations

4.1 Disk Storage Requirements

Approximately 9 megabytes of disk storage is required for
all of the device drivers and utilities of EFS 5.66.

4.2 Removing and Upgrading EFS

When removing or upgrading EFS 5.12 or later, save all
network information and then remove any existing netconfig
chains to the network drivers. To do this, run netconfig,
select Hardware and Remove Network Device for each
netconfig chain connected to any of the network drivers
shipped with EFS.

4.3 Operating System Requirements

The following operating system releases are supported by
EFS 5.66

o SCO OpenServer Enterprise 5.0.7
o SCO OpenServer Enterprise 5.0.6
o SCO OpenServer Host 5.0.6

4.4 Installing OpenServer 5 on systems with an IDE Controller

The IDE controller driver from SCO is not included on
hp ProLiant Extended Feature Supplement 5.66. An IDE driver
required for installing SCO OpenServer on ProLiant Systems
with an IDE Controller, can be obtained from SCO web site
www.sco.com.

Instructions on how to install this driver can be found in
section 11.0 "Installing SCO OpenServer Release 5 using the
hp ProLiant BTLD diskette." For IDE systems use the oss478a
(ATAPI (IDE) driver BTLD) from SCO (the latest release from
SCO at the time of this document).

NOTE: IDE Controller driver is not required if installation
is done using SCO OpenServer 5.0.6 and later, as it is already
present in them.

4.5 Other Considerations

To access certain SCSI devices during installation of SCO
OpenServer Release 5, the Boot-Time Loadable Driver (BTLD)
diskette, available as part of the hp ProLiant Extended
Feature Supplement disk set, may be needed. Refer to
section 11.0, "Installing SCO OpenServer Release 5 using
the BTLD diskette."

4.6 Recovery from /etc/btldinstall

Using btldinstall will cause the cha driver to rewrite the
sdevice file with only one(1) device. If you have more
than one SCSI controller installed, only the boot device
will be accessible. Recovery is possible by installing
the efs or running mkdev hd.

4.7 Software Patches from SCO

Following is a list of recommended minimum patches from
SCO. This list does not cover the entire scope of patches.
This list is just a recommendation for a minimum patch install.
These patches and others can be found on SCO web site
(www.sco.com).

5.0 Installing hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5

NOTE: If an earlier version of the hp ProLiant EFS is already
installed on your system, please see section 8.0, "Updating
your hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5."

5.1 "Custom" Installation

1. Log in as root

2. Enter "/etc/shutdown -g0 -y" to shut down the system.

3. Press ; at the "Safe to Power Off" message.
When the system reboots, you are prompted to
"press ;+; or enter the root password".
Enter the root password to enter system maintenance
mode.

4. Type "/etc/custom." and press ; The main custom
menu should appear.

5. On the menu bar, highlight "Software", and
press ; to continue.

6. Highlight "Install New..." and press ;.

7. You will be asked what host you want to install from.
Select the host and press ;.

NOTE: Only the local host is supported.

8. You will be asked to insert media and select media device.
Insert the hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5
Volume 1 diskette into the drive. Select "Floppy Disk Drive 0"
as Media Device and press ;.

9. The initial hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5
screen appears. Below the title, each component of the
EFS is listed as it is installed.

10. At some point during this installation, you are prompted to

6.0 Installing hp Tested OEM Network controller Drivers

6.1 Installation using hpnicinstall Utility

EFS installation will place the OEM Network Drivers as a tar image
on your system. The Network drivers that are part of EFS image are

o Intel(R) PRO\100 Network driver (eeE)
o Intel(R) PRO\1000 Network driver (eeG)
o Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet Network driver (bcme)

Each of these driver packages can be installed seperately
using the hpnicinstall utility provided by the EFS. The command
should be run as root (superuser).

Syntax:

# hpnicinstall Driver-Name
Where, "Driver-Name" shall be eeE, eeG or bcme.

For more details on this command, refer hpnicinstall man page.


7.0 Installing SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.X on a System with an IDE CDROM

7.1 Installation considerations

NOTE : Installation of the OS is supported only on the
primary controller. Use the System Configuration Utility
on SmartStart CD or RBSU(ROM Based Setup Utility) to set the
controller order of the primary controller as first. For
Compaq Wide Ultra2 or earlier SCSI controllers, also select
the Host adapter number "0" for primary controller.

On certain platforms System Configuration Utility is not supported.
On these platforms, use the F9/F10 (Function Keys F9/F10) setup
utility to select the primary controller. Follow on-screen
directions to setup the primary controller.

7.2 Installation on Compaq 64-Bit/66-MHz Dual Channel Wide/
Wide Ultra3 SCSI or later controller.

Be sure to terminate any unused internal SCSI controllers.

7.2.1 Software Requirements

o SCO OpenServer 5.0.X
o hp ProLiant EFS 5.66
(Includes hp ProLiant BTLD diskette, 3 EFS
diskettes and a documentation diskette)

7.2.2 System Configuration and Setup

(Erase the system if necessary).
Follow on screen instructions choosing the Manual
Installation path. Select the proper OS and the primary
integrated SCSI controller (if more than one), for
installation under the System Configuration Utility.
Install the system partition if desired.

o For Systems With RBSU(ROM Based Setup Utility)

Boot from SmartStart 6.40 or later CD.
Follow on screen instructions.
Click on "Launch Setup" and select "Reboot to RBSU" to
configure the system.

8.0 Updating Your hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5

BE SURE TO READ SECTION 4.2 "REMOVING AND UPGRADING EFS" BEFORE
YOU START.

If you are updating an earlier version of the hp ProLiant EFS for
SCO OpenServer Release 5 to Version 5.66, you must remove the earlier
version. To do so, follow the instructions in the manual for your
earlier version. If the manual for the earlier version is not available,
you can use the instructions in the next section "Removing the hp
ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5" although the screen messages
may be slightly different. After removing the earlier version of the hp
ProLiant EFS, install the new version as described in the section
"5.0 Installing the hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5."


9.0 Removing the hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5

Use the following procedure to remove the hp ProLiant EFS for SCO
OpenServer Release 5. This procedure should be carried out in
single user mode.

NOTE: When removing or upgrading EFS 5.12 or later, save all
network information and then remove any existing netconfig
chains to the network drivers. To do this, run netconfig,
select Hardware and Remove Network Device for each netconfig
chain connected to any of the network drivers shipped with EFS.

NOTE: The hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer Release 5 must be removed
before any SCO Maintenance Supplements.

9.1 Custom Removal

1. Log in as root.
2. Enter "/etc/custom"
3. Press ; to highlight the software selections.
Using the arrow keys highlight "hp ProLiant Extended
Feature Supplement", and press ;.
4. Press ; to go back to the menu bar and highlight
"Software", and Press ;.
Highlight "Remove Software" and press ;.
5. You are prompted to verify the removal of all packages.
Highlight "Remove" and press "Enter".
6. When all the packages of hp ProLiant EFS for SCO OpenServer
Release 5 are removed, you will be prompted that the
kernel was relinked.
Press ; to continue.
8. You will be prompted again "Removal Complete".
Press ; to continue.
9. To exit the installation procedure, highlight the
"Host" selection, press ;, and highlight "Exit"
and press ;.


10.0 Removing hp Tested OEM Network Controller Drivers

10.1 Custom Removal

If installed, each of the OEM network controller driver pacakge
should be removed using the "custom" utility. Before removing,
make sure corresponding network controller(s) is not configured
in your system.


11.0 Installing SCO OpenServer Release 5 Using the BTLD Diskette

For complete instructions on installing SCO OpenServer Release 5
using a Boot-Time Loadable Driver (BTLD) diskette, refer to the
Installation Guide of your SCO OpenServer Release 5 Operating
System.

During the installation procedure you will need to supply one of

If you are installing SCO OpenServer Release 5 using either the
Integrated SCSI-2 Options Port, the COMPAQ 32-Bit Fast-SCSI-2
Controller, a SMART-2 controller, the Compaq 32-Bit Fast-Wide-
SCSI-2 Controller, or on ProLiant system with an IDE Controller,
you must indicate that you will be using device drivers external
to the standard SCO OpenServer Release 5 installation package. Do
this by typing the "link" parameter after the "Boot:" prompt.

For example:

Boot: link

Then answer the following prompt with cha for the COMPAQ 32-Bit
Fast-SCSI-2 Controller or the COMPAQ 32-Bit Fast-Wide SCSI-2
Controller. Answer the prompt with CUCCS for the Integrated
SCSI-2 Options Port. For the Compaq SMART-2 controller, answer
with ida. For the IDE Controller Driver, answer with wd.

Which packages do you need linked in the system, or q to quit?:

If you are restarting an unfinished installation, enter the
following at the "Boot:" prompt.

Boot: restart link=cha
or
Boot: restart link=ccs
or
Boot: restart link=wd

If you need the cha, ida and wd, specify all names separated by
a space:

Boot: restart link="cha ida wd"

When prompted to insert either the cha, ccs, or ida package
volume, insert the hp ProLiant Boot-Time Loadable Drivers
diskette.

If you are using the replacement boot diskette and the BTLD
for ida, you should reply "n" at the following prompt:

"Please enter which routine (0 - 30) to replace ("?" to list),
'a' to add "idainit" at end [default]
'n' to do nothing,
or 'q' to quit:"

When the IDE Controller driver is linked in, you will be prompted
to replace, use block and character major 9, or quit, you should
reply "r" at the following prompt:

Driver ; apparently should be replaced with the new driver
"wd". Replacing a driver may result in a kernel which does not
work.

"Please enter

'a' if you want to use block and character major 9 [default]
which block and character major number (0-100) to use

12.0 Configuring Tape Drive(s) on SCO OpenServer Release 5

Following are the various tape drives validated on OpenServer Release 5

o HP StorageWorks DAT 20/40 GB
o HP StorageWorks DAT 24 GB
o HP StorageWorks AIT 35/70 GB
o HP StorageWorks AIT 50/100 GB
o HP StorageWorks DLT 20/40 GB

To configure tape drive(s), login as super user. Run "mkdev tape"
and follow the On-screen assistance.

o on ad160 driver based controllers, please enter

SCSI Bus = 0
Target ID = SCSI ID of the tape drive
LUN = 0

o on ciss driver based controllers, please enter

SCSI Bus = 4
Target ID = 0 for the first tape drive, 1 for the second and so on...
LUN = 0

Komponen Server



Server ini jenis-nya ML110 di dalam-nya terdapat card digi dan card scsi untuk keperluan yang support dengan sco 5.0.6 tools yang layak untuk di gunakan cdrom IDE dan Floppydisk.

Selesai kita menginstall mpi 4.2.1 dan portnya sudah setting dengan baik baru kita dapat merubah ttytype untuk jenis terminal wyse 60 prosesnya yaitu :
  • vi /etc/ttytype akan keluar seperti dibawah ini

  • semua yang berhuruf ttya(kecil) satu persatu kita ganti caranya yaitu di dialup ttya01 pada posisi dialup tersebut kita ke cw untuk mengedit satu kata wy60 ttya01 kemudian selanjutnya untuk yang lain kita hanya mempastekan dengan . (titik) di posisi masing masing yang akan di rubah menjadi wy60.
  • selesai ketik : x (titik 2 dan x ) untuk menyimpan dan keluar edit
  • kemudian reboot ulang server yang ada
  • yakinkan terminal tersebut sudah terkoneksi dengan digi board yang ada di port mana terminal tersebut terpasang
  • setiap terminal akan keluar login: (jika sudah dapat terkoneksi dengan baik)

Setting Port di mpi 4.2.1

Setelah pengenalan system terhadap pci digi dan board yang ada kita dapat melanjutkan untuk mensetting setiap port -nya tersebut :
  1. Ketik mpi 4.2.1 untuk masuk ke system digi
  2. setelah itu kita pilih di menu tersebut yaitu : Ports - Port Configuration Utility (PCU)
  3. 1 AccelePort Xem(PCI) OK 1 8 klik enter 2 kali
  4. Akan timbul menu port yang kita buatkan

Installasi mpi 4.2.1 in sco 5.0.6

Setelah software digi di install menggunakan custom kita dapat menggunakan mpi versi 4.2.1 ini dengan mengetik mpi di # (pager) / root tersebut dan akan keluar proses menu installasi sebagai berikut:
  1. Press any key to continue: (tekan apa saja untuk proses selanjutnya)
  2. Pertama kali Pilih : Config - Install, Change, and Remove
  3. Selanjutnya : Install - Install New Products
  4. Pilih: Digi AccelePort EPC/X, C/X and Xem Family (kebetulan yang di gunakan xem product)
  5. Tekan F5 untuk proses selanjutnya
  6. PORTS Module 1: PORTS/8em (sebetulnya bisa 16 port jika digi boardnya 16 port)
  7. Tekan F5 untuk proses selanjutnya
  8. Tekan F5 untuk proses selanjutnya
  9. sampai selesai
  10. reboot server yang ada

Perangkat Server


Card Digi dan Digi Board merupakan satu kesatuan komponen untuk membagi beberapa client menggunakan Dumb terminal rata - rata di gunakan yaitu 8 port dan 16 port.
Di Unix sco 5.0.6 digi compatible dengan software mpi 4.2.1 insatalasi sofwater tersebut di bagi 2 file :
1. VOL.000.000
2.VOL.001.000
Proses instalasi di lakukan setingkat root atau dengan kata lain menggunkan # (pager) step yang di lakukan yaitu:
  1. Custom
  2. Software
  3. Install New(CTR+A+I)
  4. From Server (di kiri bawah klik Continue)
  5. Media Device (Media Images) lanjutkan (di kiri bawah klik Continue)
  6. Image Directory | /u/digi/ (jika file VOL.000.000 dan VOL.001.000 berada di /u/digi)

5. Pastikan YM anda telah dimatikan, jalankan YM dan login secara biasa.
